PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve visibility of a thumbnail image and a map in displaying, on a map displayed on a display, a thumbnail image corresponding to the photographing position when acquiring the image by photographing. SOLUTION: The images to be stored in an image storage section of a PC are associated with photographing date and time information and photographing position information. These images are grouped in accordance with prescribed conditions. A thumbnail image corresponding to each image, a symbol representing the group, and representing position information representing the position information of the images in the group are generated. On a map displayed on a monitor, a thumbnail image is superposed and displayed at a position corresponding to the position information. A user can change the display scale of the map. When the display scale is equal to or smaller than a display changing threshold, a symbol is displayed.
