The roller (1) has a tip cylinder (6) rotatably arranged on a fixed shaft (2) by a bearing (3) e.g. roller bearing (4). The cylinder is made of two-layered, wound fiber reinforced plastics composite i.e. synthetic resin composite. A coefficient of friction of a surface area (11) of the cylinder is variably adjusted over axial length of the roller. The bearing and/or a drive of the roller are wound in the cylinder. A collet is wrapped in another cylinder for receiving the bearing and/or the drive. A drum motor is radially provided within the cylinder for driving the cylinder.
