The present invention provides a method of line-locking a braking system (ie preferably locking the brakes on one axle of the vehicle) and a vehicle braking apparatus. The method includes performing a preliminary system check (620, 650, 660, and 670, fig 5) and controlling the distribution of fluid between a hydraulic module and two sets of vehicle brakes when the preliminary check is satisfied. The apparatus includes first and second hydraulic brake modules 220, 230, 240 and 250, a hydraulic module 260, 270 configured to provide fluid to the first and second brake modules, a valve system 290, 300, 310 and 320 that is configured to disconnect the hydraulic module from the first and second brake modules and an electronic control module 330 that is configured to control the valve system. The line locking is preferably used to allow burn outs to warm up the driving wheels before a drag race. |
