PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible tube of an endoscope having excellent autoclave durability and also impact resilience that improves insertion operability of the flexible tube into the body cavity. SOLUTION: The flexible tube of an endoscope includes a flexible tube assembly 10 in which a plurality of short tube-like joint pieces 11 are connected in series so that the pieces rotate freely. A plurality of tongues 12 and 13 are arranged spirally as a whole. A spiral belt 19 having spring property and the same spiral pitch as that of the tongues is arranged along the inner circumference of the flexible tube assembly 10 without interfering the tongues 12 and 13.
