PURPOSE: A backlight unit and a display module applying the same are provided to electrically connect a plurality of light source element which project light to a light guide plate. CONSTITUTION: A backlight unit of a display module comprises a light guide plate(130) which guides light to a display device and a plurality of light source element which are placed on the side part of the light guide plate. The light source elements are electrically connected with each other through a connection part(170) formed of conduction material.
