PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for obtaining a high dynamic range image are provided to obtain a high dynamic range image by controlling exposure time. CONSTITUTION: An image sensor(110) differentiates exposure time by area and generates a first image. An image separating unit(120) separates a first image into images having the same exposure time. An image restoring unit(130) restores the separated images having the first image. An image synthesizing unit(140) synthesizes the restored image into a second image.
