PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hand-held type power tool capable of suppressing transmission of vibration during work to a worker, while preventing increases of the number of parts and cost, and a method for manufacturing a housing. SOLUTION: A chain saw 1 includes the housing 2 including a main handle 5. The housing 2 includes a first housing 2A including a mounting part 7, and a second housing 2B. The main handle 5 includes a first main handle 5C of the first housing 2A and a second main handle 5D of the second housing 2B. A second elastic body 9 is provided on an external surface of the main handle 5. The second elastic body 9 and the housing 2 are integrally molded by two-layer molding. The second elastic body 9 is constituted of a second-1 elastic body 9A provided in the first main handle 5C and a second-2 elastic body 9B provided in the second main handle 5D.
