PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and a program, capable of developing pieces of image data by many aspect ratios while suppressing capacity and the number of pieces of image data in recording into a recording medium. SOLUTION: When a RAW recording system is selected and imaging data obtained by photography is recorded as RAW image data, an aspect ratio in the photography, a position of an image area of an aspect ratio 4:3 in all of effective image areas of an image pickup device, and a position of an image area of an aspect ratio 16:9 in all of the effective image areas of the image pickup device are temporarily stored in a memory part (steps S82-S84), various kinds of temporarily stored information are embedded in a header of a RAW image file (a step S85), and stored in the recording medium as the RAW image file together with the RAW image data (a step S86).
