A CONTROLLER OF A GATEWAY BASED ON VOICE OVER INTERNET PROTOCOL AND A METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A control apparatus of a VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol) gateway and a control method thereof are provided to change an impedance that is adjusted to an analog local line. CONSTITUTION: An analog local line interface(204) receives a tone from the analog local line. A tone analysis unit(206) measures an echo value of the tone from the tone. A controller(208) controls the impedance of the VoIP gateway that is based on the echo value. The tone analysis unit measures the echo value of the tone in a state that does not offset the echo of the tone. The tone has a frequency that is between 200Hz and 3.4KHz.
