<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of suppressing power consumption in a power saving mode as low as possible, further simplifying a control program of return processing from the power saving mode, and performing quick return processing. <P>SOLUTION: A sub CPU 61, upon detecting a return event under the power saving mode, starts a main CPU 21, generates return condition information of local control sections 14, 31 and 41, and uses a data transmitting section 112 that does not need an initialization process to output the return condition information to the main CPU 21.
