PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vinyl ester-based resin emulsion showing excellent working properties and high mechanical stability. SOLUTION: A method for preparing the vinyl ester-based resin emulsion is characterized in that when a vinyl ester-based monomer is emulsion-polymerized with a vinyl alcohol-based polymer as a dispersant in the presence of 3-methoxy-3-methyl-1-butanol, 3-methoxy-3-methyl-1-butanol is added simultaneously with addition of the vinyl ester-based monomer to the polymerization system.
