PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toric contact lens having favorable axial stability and wearing feeling. SOLUTION: Disclosed is the toric contact lens 10 having a prism ballast structure where a center optical area 28, an annular transition area 30 surrounding the center area, and an annular peripheral area 32 surrounding the transition area are defined on the lens front surface. The shape of the lens front surface has mirror-image symmetry with a vertical radial line 18 as a boundary, and the thickness of the lens is smoothly reduced from two maximum thickness portions 36 and 38 in which the thickness of the lens becomes maximum toward the lens lower end 26, and a valley-shaped recess between the maximum thickness portions 36 and 38 is formed as a slab-off part 40.
