PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact imaging apparatus short in overall length. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus 1 includes a CCD 12 and a lens unit 81. The lens unit 81 has a lens group 82 guiding incident light to the periphery of the CCD 12, a ring mirror 22 reflecting the light guided by the lens group 82 in an optical axis O direction, and having the CCD 12 arranged in the center part, and a variable shape mirror 40 guiding the light reflected by the ring mirror 22 to the CCD 12 and arranged at a position on the optical axis O opposite to the CCD 12.
