PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent delay of reproduction display processing of a moving image during double speed driving processing and accurately reproduce and display the image before compression coding, in a liquid crystal display system. SOLUTION: A DVD player transmits not only a reproduction frame image but also movement vector data calculated during the compression coding of compressed image data to a liquid crystal television, and the liquid crystal television generates an intermediate image based on the received reproduction frame image and movement vector data (S11 and S12). Thus, the liquid crystal television can generate the intermediate image using the movement vector data calculated during the compression coding of compressed image data, so that it can accurately reproduce and display the image before compression coding. Differently from the conventional art, the liquid crystal television side is not required to perform calculation processing of the movement vector data for intermediate image generation, so that delay of the reproduction display processing of the moving image during double speed driving processing can be prevented.
