A sign 1 suitable for use in the identification of subsea structures is described. The sign 1 comprises an electronically and/or writable identification tag 4 and an antifouling marker 3 configured such that the marker 3 provides a means for visual identification of the tag 4. By employing an antifouling marker 3 to provide a means for visual identification of the tag 4, the subsea location of the tag 4 can be readily observed by a diver or the operator of an ROV so allowing them to quickly bring a tag reader in communication range with the tag 4. The tag 4 may comprise an RFID tag or a barcode. The sign may comprise a mount comprising a backing member 5 on which the tag is mounted and a fixing frame 7 attached to the member 5 to secure the marker between the fixing frame and the member 5.
