PURPOSE: A martensitic stainless steel and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to manufacture martensitic stainless steel using a strip casting process to thereby reduce center segregation. CONSTITUTION: The method for manufacturing martensitic stainless steel comprises the next step. Stainless molten steel containing C of 0.10~0.50% and Cr of 11~16% is supplied from a turndish through a nozzle to a steel pool to cast a stainless thin plate. A hot rolling strip is manufacture at a reduction ratio of 5~40% from the stainless thin plate using an inline roller. Martensitic stainless steel is composed of Si of 0.1~1. 0%, Mn of 0.1~1.0%, Ni of 0~1.0%, N of 0~0.1%, S of 0~0.04%, P of 0~0.05%, remnant Fe and other impurities.
