MOVING IMAGE DECODING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select a conversion method so that the optimum coding processing can be executed in accordance with characteristics of an image signal.

SOLUTION: A coding control section 30 previously stores the history of conversion systems selected in the past and outputs a signal 203 for controlling to select the same conversion system to a conversion system control section 31, a conversion coefficient signal inversely quantized in an inverse quantization section 81 is input into either an inverse conversion section A91 or an inverse conversion section B92 and inversely converted in each conversion system, and the conversion coefficient signal subjected to inverse conversion is output.
