PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-blade centrifugal fan capable of smoothly enlarging an air current by a diffuser part and accelerating uniformization of wind speed distribution in the lower reaches, and an air conditioner using the multi-blade centrifugal fan. SOLUTION: The multi-blade centrifugal fan includes the diffuser part 7 suddenly enlarged in the passage and provided integrally formed at or integrally connected to a blowoff port of a fan casing. A plurality of protrusions 10 having faces inclined at a predetermined angle to an air current direction to cause vertical vortex are provided on a wall surface 7A in a position where the passage of the diffuser part 7 starts sudden enlargement.
