A PROTECTION SYSTEM USING PHASE MEASUREMENTS AND THE TRIP METHOD FOR ACCELERATORS

PURPOSE: An apparatus for protecting a high frequency accelerator system using phase change and a trip method thereof are provided to protect the high frequency apparatus from high frequency transient reflection, by comparing high frequency phase change with trip setting values. CONSTITUTION: An acceleration apparatus part(200) receives high frequency generated in a high frequency generation part(100). The acceleration apparatus part accelerates particles. A waveguide(300) connects the high frequency generation part and the acceleration apparatus part. The waveguide transmits the high frequency. A trip signal generation part(400) includes a phase comparator, a trip level setting unit(420) and a trip level comparator. The phase comparator detects phase change of forward high frequency and the high frequency measured from the acceleration apparatus part. The trip level setting unit sets trip setting values. The trip level comparator generates a trip signal.
