The device has a decoupling device (14) for decoupling a drive device or a power unit e.g. generator, of the drive device from an endless traction device, so that a drive pulley (2) of the endless traction device is movable from a decoupled position to a coupled position relative to a shaft (1) of the drive device, where power from the drive pulley is transferable and non-transferable to the shaft in the coupled and decoupled positions of the pulley, respectively. The decoupling device urges the pulley in different directions with the rotation of the pulley in the respective positions.
