PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle management device of simple structure for a car carrier vessel, capable of exhibiting three functions of a back-hit preventing alarm function, a vehicle counting function and a speed control alarm function. SOLUTION: First to third sensors 11-13 for detecting passing-through of a vehicle are provided in order with an interval in a ramp way or an in-vessel vehicle passage along a storing direction. The second sensor 12 is provided at a position higher than the first and third sensors 11 and 13. A control unit 16 receives signals from the first-the third sensors 11-13 and exhibits a back-hit preventing alarm function, a counting function and a speed control alarm function.
