PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring instrument which can be miniaturized and improved in visibility of a dial. SOLUTION: The measuring instrument has the dial 31 for forming a scale, a substrate 33 arranged on the side of a front face 31a of the dial 31, pointers 4 arranged between the dial 31 and the substrate 33 to be mounted on a movement 35 on the substrate 33 to indicate the scale 32 by being rotated, a dial LED 36, and a light guide plate 5, and a shading part 6. The dial LED 36 is put on the rear face 33b of the side facing the dial 31 of the substrate 33. The light guide plate 5 is composed of a translucent material, and has a light receiving part 52 facing the dial LED 36 and a light guide part 51 overlapped on the rear face 31b of the dial 31 by being connected to the light receiving part 52. The shading part 6 is composed of a shading material and partitions between the dial LED 36, the light receiving part 52, and the dial 31 to shade light toward a front face 31a of the dial 31.
