<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wound closure device for repairing and sealing perforations in tissue in a laparoscopic port site or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The wound closure device 10 includes an elongate body 12 having a proximal end and a distal end; a plug member 14 having a tissue facing surface; and a hinge that connects the tissue facing surface of the plug member to the elongate body. The plug member includes at least one reactive group. In a certain aspect, the at least one reactive group is selected from a group consisting of isocyanate, N-hydroxy succinimide, cianoacrylate, aldehyde, genipin, trilysine, tetralysine, polylysine, diimide, diisocyanate, cyanamide, carbodimide, dimethyl adipimidate, starch, and combinations thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
