METHOD FOR RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DATA UNDER CONTROL OF DOMAIN MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recording and reproducing data under control of a domain management system.

SOLUTION: The content recording method includes: extracting, from a host's recording instruction, domain management information representing information about a domain and content and copy control information representing the degree at which the content can be copied in the domain; recording the extracted domain management information on a recording medium; generating a domain-limited flag for making a device for reproducing the content perform a procedure for confirming whether a reproducing device is present in a domain within a predetermined area on the basis of the extracted copy control information; and recording the generated domain-limited flag and the content on the recording medium. Accordingly, the domain-limited content can be stored in the external recording medium of a slave device under control of the domain management system, while maintaining the domain-limited content in such a manner that it can not be reproduced in other domains.
