PURPOSE: A rechargeable battery is provided to enable easy fabrication since a current collection tab is easily welded to an uncoated part by supporting the uncoated part through supporting protrusions. CONSTITUTION: A rechargeable battery comprises: a case; an electrode assembly(10) having a first electrode, a second electrode and a separator interposed between the first and the second electrodes, wherein the first electrode comprises a first active material coated part and an uncoated part; a cap assembly including a terminal electrically connected to the electrode assembly; a safety assembly(40) including a first conductive plate and a first support protrusion(41b) coupled to the uncoated part; a current collection tab which electrically connects the electrode assembly and the terminal and is coupled to the uncoated part; and a first auxiliary plate(37) attached to the opposing side of the side where the first support protrusion is coupled.
