<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor which prevents chattering without installing another member such as a coil spring, and can be manufactured inexpensively owing to easy machining of vanes. <P>SOLUTION: The compressor includes a cylinder chamber having an oval inner wall shape; a rotor rotatably arranged in the cylinder chamber; and the vanes held by the rotor to slide the inner wall surface of the cylinder chamber as the rotor rotates. The rotor has vane grooves for containing the vanes advancingly and retreatingly at a slit offset position that is offset in the reverse rotation direction of the rotor with respect to a line in the diameter direction passing through the center of rotation of the rotor.
