<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that it is difficult to detect/discriminate features of spectral characteristics of light incident on an image sensor, by performing simple image capturing without reducing a resolution, in an image capturing apparatus which performs image capturing using RGB three bands. <P>SOLUTION: On an image sensor constituted of RGB pixels, there are disposed additional band pixels BG, OG each having a spectral sensitivity peak in wavelengths between BG bands and between RG bands. A feature amount in spectral characteristics of sensor incident light is acquired from pixel values of the additional bands and pixel values of the RGB bands obtained by the image sensor, and applied to image processing, wherein the number of additional band pixels is extremely less than the numbers of RGB pixels in the image sensor, thereby maintaining an image capturing resolution. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
