DISPLAY APPARATUS AND BACK LIGHT UNIT

PURPOSE: A display device and a backlight unit are provided to save a cost by reducing power consumption. CONSTITUTION: A display device includes a display panel and a backlight unit(BackLight Unit(BLU)) for providing a backlight to the display panel. The BLU includes a converter, a plurality of light source modules(300,301,302), and a control unit. The converter converts a voltage of a power source and outputs the converted voltage. The plurality of light source modules receive the power outputted from the converter. The control unit produces power conditions for operating the light source modules in specific states according to each of the light source modules and controls the converter according to the produced power conditions.
