PURPOSE: A backlight unit prism light guide panel gate cutting device is provided to prevent a light guide plate element from being attached to a gate cutting knife. CONSTITUTION: A heater(35) heats metal elements to cut a gate of a prism light guide plate at the temperature near the melting point of the prism light guide plate. A prism light guide plate gate cutting knife(33) cuts the gate of the prism light guide plate of high temperature and comprises a thermal temperature detecting sensor(34) to maintain the heater at a constant rate.
