FIELD: medicine. ^ SUBSTANCE: blood is analysed in adolescents to evaluate erythrocyte superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GPO) activity. Then a protective efficiency coefficient of antioxidant enzymes (K) is calculated by formula: K=SOD/GPO, where SOD is the superoxide dismutase activity, standard units in 1 g Hb, GPO is the glutathione peroxidase activity, standard units in 1 g Hb.
