PURPOSE: A method for controlling a refrigerator is provided to freshly store vegetables and fruits in a refrigerator by effectively guiding the photosynthesis of the vegetables and fruits stored in the refrigerant. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling a refrigerator is as follows. The on/off of Light Emitting Diodes(120) for irradiating light to a storage chamber(110) is controlled depending on time. The LEDs irradiate light to the storage chamber with a first wavelength. The LEDs irradiate light to the storage chamber with a second wavelength which is longer than the first wavelength. The LEDs are off. The on/off of the LEDs is periodically repeated.
