<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device and a projector that can reduce the temperature difference between the upper temperature and the lower temperature of a vessel part. <P>SOLUTION: The light source device 110 includes: the vessel part 30 having inside a pair of electrodes 42, 52 arranged along an illumination light axis L; a light emission tube 20 having a pair of sealing parts 40, 50 extending in both sides of the vessel part 30; a reflector 10 which is disposed on one of the sealing parts 40 of the light emission tube 20 and reflects the light beams emitted from the light emission tube 20 toward a region to be illuminated; and a sub-mirror 60 which is disposed on the other sealing part 50 so as to cover the outer surface of the region to be illuminated of the vessel part 30 and is constituted so that first reflecting members 70 and second reflecting members 80 as the plurality of reflecting members having different reflecting surfaces (reflection layers 73, 83) are alternately disposed, the distances from the illumination light axis L to the outlines of the first reflecting member 70 and of the second reflecting member 80 being different, and which reflects the light beams from the light emission tube 20 toward the light emission tube 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
