The track lead frame has a core element (1), and a plastic containing pre mold (2) partially surrounded by a main spray (8). The pre mold comprises a supporting area (6) for supporting a workpiece. The area extends through the main spray upto an upper surface (11) of the main spray. A surface contour of the main spray is geometrically arranged such that penetration of fluid between the main spray and the pre mold is controlled. A protrusion extending in a direction of the surface of the main spray is formed on the pre mold.
