PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool capable of improving a tool service life, and favorably cutting chips by a chip breaker. SOLUTION: In the cutting tool (drill 1) including a cutting blade 21 for cutting a workpiece 2, a rake face 22 continuing to the cutting blade 21 and sweeping the chips 3 generated by cutting the workpiece 2, and the chip breaker 23 including a wall face 23a provided to continue to the rake face 22 and cutting the chips 3 swept by the rake face 22, a rake angleαof the rake face is set to a negative angle in respect to a rotation shaft core C of the drill 1, and a shearing angleβof the wall face 23a of the chip breaker 23 is set to a negative angle with respect to a perpendicular B of the rotation shaft core C of the drill 1.
