PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To pinpoint the present location, even if reception of the radio waves from GPS satellites are not received, and to perform navigation on the basis of the pinpointed present location. SOLUTION: A navigation device is constituted of: an imaged-object detecting section 12A to which images of different photographing magnifications are input from an imaging device 3, and which detects an imaged object from the images; a feature-component extracting section 12B for extracting a feature component of the imaged object; an imaged-object identifying section 12C, which refers to an image recognition database 14 and identifies the imaged object; an imaging-direction predicting section 12D for predicting a photographing direction by detecting an azimuth with an azimuth detector 5; an imaging distance calculating section 12E for calculating the distance from an imaging point up to the imaged object, based on the information on feature component aspect ratio and information on the different photographic magnifications; an imaging point identifying section 12F for retrieving a map information database 15, based on imaged-object identification information, imaging direction information, and imaging distance information, and identifying a current position of a user; and a navigation section 13A for performing route guidance, based on the identified imaging point.
