PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cash register for smoothly outputting receipt information even when a receipt sheet runs out without wasting receipt sheets and an information output method using the cash register. SOLUTION: In the cash register 1, a detection means detects an end mark 80 of a receipt sheet 8. A control unit 7 controls to cause a receipt print part to output about transactions when it is determined that a remaining amount of receipt sheets is longer than the length of receipt sheets to be used, and controls to cause a journal print part to output about transactions when it is determined that the length of receipt sheets to be used is longer than the remaining amount of receipt sheets.
