PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external preparation for the skin, a bleaching agent, an antioxidant, a collagenase inhibitor and a hyaluronidase inhibitor, containing an extract of a plant belonging to the genus Crossandra of the family Acanthaceae. SOLUTION: The extract of the plant belonging to the genus Crossandra of the family Acanthaceae has excellent active oxygen-eliminating activities, and collagenase-inhibiting, hyaluronidase-inhibiting and melanin formation-inhibiting activities, and also has excellent stability. The external preparation for the skin containing the extract of the plant belonging to the genus Crossandra of the family Acanthaceae has safe and excellent, antiaging and bleaching activities.
