ROTATION DETECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation detector for detecting shaft displacement arising in a rotary shaft, thereby detecting accurate rotation of the rotary shaft corresponding to the shaft displacement detected. SOLUTION: The rotation detector 1 includes a sensor S1, a sensor S2, and a shaft displacement detector 12; and the sensor S1is disposed toward a toothed wheel 20, including a bevel wheel 20 provided non-parallel to a rotation axis 2A and is used for measuring the distance to the bevel wheel 20. The sensor S2is provided toward the toothed wheel 2, at a position different from that of the sensor S1and in the direction of the rotation axis 2A. The displacement detector 12 detects the displacement of the rotation axis 2A, based on the change in at least one of the distances measured by the sensor S1or that measured by the sensor S2.
