<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved endoscopic surgical staple device having a mechanism for adjusting the orientation of a tool assembly which can position the tool assembly in an arbitrarily desired orientation by a simple operation. <P>SOLUTION: The surgical staple device includes an independently rotatable tool assembly 12. The tool assembly 12 includes an anvil 14 and a cartridge assembly 16. They can move to each other between a spaced position and a close position. A clamp member 20 can move to a forward position from a backward position to move the cartridge assembly 16 to the close position from the spaced position relative to the anvil 14. A dynamic clamping member is positioned so as to be movable to the forward position from the backward position relative to the anvil 14 and the cartridge assembly 16 to drive and feed a plurality of fasteners from the cartridge assembly 16. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
