The method involves controlling and/or regulating load resistance of an electrical load (5) depending on a determined temperature value of a heat source (2) of an electrical load operating device. A thermoelectric generator (1) of the electrical load operating device is thermally coupled with the heat source and a heat sink (3). The thermoelectric generator is electrically in contact with the electrical load, where electrical energy for the electrical load is produced from a temperature gradient (delta T) between the heat source and the heat sink by the thermoelectric generator.
