PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive filter device having excellent cleaning and filtering efficiency, and excellent stability. SOLUTION: The filter device includes a vertical cylindrical filter element 21, and a liquid filtrate nozzle 62 for turning the filter element 21 around its axis. A liquid filtrate flow passage P is formed in the circumferential direction along the outer surface of the filter element 21 which is the same direction as the rotational direction of the filter element 21 of the liquid filtrate nozzle 62. The flow of the liquid filtrate in the flow passage P is blocked by a baffle plate 91 over the entire outer surface height direction of the filter element 21 to form a flow passage T deflected inwardly in the radial direction from the circumferential direction of the filter element 21.
