PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, preventing a sticking phenomenon on a paper delivery tray by spraying the air to a paper sheet to be cooled in a carrying path to early cool the paper sheet, and preventing lapping of a paper sheet, turn-back of a paper sheet, breakage of a paper sheet and jam of a paper sheet through the influence on carrying performance exerted by spraying the air to the paper sheet in the carrying path. SOLUTION: A cooling duct 78 is disposed between a first pair of carrying rollers 60 and a second sending roller 61 in a second carrying path 43. In starting to carry a paper sheet, a gate 73 is turned upward to a first position, thereby closing a sixth carrying path 44, a first carrying path 42 and the second carrying path 43 are communicated with each other, and the paper sheet which has passed a fixing unit 21 starts to be carried from the first carrying path 42 to the second carrying path 43. When a first paper sensor 74 detects the leading edge of the paper sheet, the rotation of a cooling fan 77 is started at a predetermined rotating speed, and blowing is started in a predetermined quantity of air.
