A film cartridge containing an endless coil of cine film 140 bearing a sound track for use in a projector as disclosed in the Specification 1,252,574, comprises idler drums 152, 153, 154 which guide the film in a plane parallel to the axis of rotation of the coil in a sound reproduction path, and continuously driven sprocket wheels 161, 162 which drive the film to and from a horizontal projection gate 77 at which the film is twisted through 90 degrees with respect to said plane in passing projection aperture 178. Sprockets 161, 162 are connected by a toothed belt 163 and one sprocket is driven through a friction clutch as described in the parent specification. The front wall 146 of the cartridge 43 has a first opening 148 to admit the automatic stop pick-up head, a second opening 150 for the idler drum (71), Fig.6 (not shown), and a third opening 151 for the sound pick-up head (68). Drums 153, 154 are mounted in pivoting brackets 155, 155' spring- urged together, and are forced apart by idler drum (71) when the cartridge is inserted in the projector. |
