PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for improving visibility of a noticing object in through image display for composition confirmation in still picture photography and moving picture display in moving picture photography or the like. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: an imaging part; a display part; an extraction part; a setting part; a tracking part; a correction processing part; and a display control part. The imaging part picks up an object and outputs an image at prescribed frame rate. The display part displays the image. The extraction part extracts a characteristic part of the object from the image. The setting part sets an object area including the characteristic part in the image on the basis of the characteristic part. The tracking part detects a position of the object area in each image and tracks the object area over a plurality of images in time series. The correction processing part performs correction processing to a background area set by excluding the object area in each image.
