PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measure for preventing the lowering of the insulation resistance of a film capacitor. SOLUTION: The film capacitor (10) includes a metallized film (13) having metal films (12) formed on both surfaces of a pair of superposed films (11, 11), the metallized film (13) is formed by being wound, and metalicon electrodes (17, 17) are connected to respective both ends in a width direction of the wound metallized film (13). Side margins (14) in which the films (11) are exposed are formed at width-directional ends of the films (11) and between the metalicon electrodes (17, 17) and the metal film (12). One film (11) of the pair of films (11, 11) is disposed protruding in the width direction to the other film (11), and the metallized film (13) includes a stop film (16) which stops a thing entering the inside of one film (11) from the outside, at the side margin (14) at the protrusion of the one film (11).
