PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the problem with a conventional large screen display panel obtained by horizontally arranging two or more display panels, wherein non-display units of frames of the display panels have a wide width or ends of display units of the display panels are conspicuous, so that a display image looks discontinuous. SOLUTION: A self-emitting first display element comprising a transparent display unit is placed over an end of a second display element to perform large screen display. A third display element capable of transparent display and opaque display is disposed on a backside of the first display element, and the third display element presents opaque display under display pixels of the first display element and has a boundary line of opaque display located in a portion where the first display element and the second display element overlap. Thus a mobile terminal which is capable of large screen display without a conspicuous boundary line between the first and the second display element and can be stored compactly when not used can be implemented.
