<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control apparatus for a multi-phase rotary machine which minimizes an influence of brake torque generated in a failure system on the drive of the rotary machine and which can continue the stable drive of the rotary machine, even when an on-failure occurs in one of switching elements. <P>SOLUTION: When a short-circuiting failure occurs in any of the systems of a first inverter unit 20 or a second inverter unit 30 due to an ON-failure in any one of MOSs 21-26, 31-36, the control unit 70 stops the drive of a motor 10 by a failure system by bringing all the MOSs in the failure system into the OFF state. The control unit 70 controls the MOSs of the non-failure system such that a brake torque generated in the failure system is canceled or the influence of the brake torque exerted on the drive of the motor 10 is reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
