METHOD OF STARTING CONTENT, AND CONTENT REPRODUCING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for properly controlling execution of a program in a reproducing device.

SOLUTION: A firmware verification part 310, prior to starting contents, verifies whether firmware for controlling the contents has been altered or not. If the firmware has not been alerted, a decryption key setup part 304 sets up a key for decrypting an encoded start program for starting the contents to the firmware. A start program decrypting part 106 decrypts the encoded start program with the firmware with the set up key.
