PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new-virus scanning method for an FA machine tool capable of attaining virus scanning for a program installed in an auxiliary storage device of an FA machine tool using a simple configuration, and to provide an FA system adopting the method, and an insertable/removable storage device used for the method. SOLUTION: An insertable/removable storage device is connected to an FA machine tool, and a virus scanning program stored in the insertable/removable storage device is activated, and a notification device provided in the insertable/removable storage device notifies a user of virus scanning under execution and the presence or absence of viral infection at the completion of virus scanning.
