An electrophotographic element comprises a support having a photo-conductive layer thereon, the layer comprising an inorganic photoconductor dispersed in a binder, the binder comprising co-poly vinyl chloride/acetate together with ethyl phthalyl ethyl glycolate and/ or diphenyl mono-o-biphenylyl phosphate as a plasticizer. The copolymer contains 55-95 wt. per cent vinyl chloride and the plasticizer is present in amount 5-25 wt. per cent based on the binder. The photo-conductor is preferably ZnO but may be ZnS, CdS, CdS + CdCO 3 , ZnO + CdS, ZnCdS 2 , TiO 2 , a telluride or an iodide. The support may be Al foil or paper. Additional plasticizers exemplified may be methyl phthalyl ethyl glycolate, trichloroethyl phosphate, dimethyl phthalate and polyesters. |
